- About
The Advent Leadership Academy is an ambitious collaboration between Advent International and Harvard Business School. The Academy provides the next generation of portfolio-company leaders with the chance to participate in a program designed and taught by the world’s most prestigious business school.
DEVELOPING TOMORROW’S LEADERS
The program will equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and relationships necessary to excel in future leadership roles at their companies. Attendees will benefit from insights into their personality and leadership style, which will help position them for future success.
FOSTERING DIVERSITY
Building on existing work to improve the level of diversity across our portfolio, the program will be open to high-performing women, people of color, and those who identify as LGBTQ+. This will help create a more diverse pipeline of future leaders for our businesses. We may broaden the criteria in the future and in certain geographic regions to allow a greater number of exceptional portfolio-company professionals to benefit from this unique opportunity.
- Objectives
The key objective of the program is to provide high-potential leaders at our portfolio companies with the knowledge and skills to accelerate their development and create a pipeline of professionals who will be prepared for future executive-level roles.
PROMOTING COLLABORATION
One of the great strengths of the Advent approach has been the continual exchange of ideas across our global community. The program will further stimulate this collaboration by encouraging alumni to share insights and best practices gained in one sector or geography with fellow leaders elsewhere in the Advent portfolio.
BUILDING NETWORKS
The shared experience will also help create a community of peers that leaders can leverage throughout their careers.
- Course overview
Participants will benefit from an intensive, multi-week program with HBS Executive Education focusing on topics such as leadership, talent management, strategy, innovation, culture, brand, and digital transformation. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with thought leaders from Harvard and external luminaries on evolving business issues.
TAILORED
The course will be tailored by HBS to meet the specific needs and experiences of the cohort. Working in small groups through real-life challenges, participants will learn to think more strategically, hone their judgment, and develop leadership acumen.
HBS EXECUTIVE EDUCATION
Harvard Business School Executive Education partners with organizations to help develop the agile leadership teams they need for successful transformation. For more than a decade, it has offered flexible education programs for some of the world’s leading businesses, leveraging the full resources of the world’s premier business school.
- Looking forward
Candidates for the program will primarily be drawn from diverse backgrounds. We may broaden the criteria in the future and in certain geographic regions to allow a greater number of exceptional portfolio-company leaders to benefit from this unique opportunity.
